So you have probably noticed that I haven’t updated this blog in a long time…It hasn’t been because I haven’t been shooting. However, with an expanding leadership role in my “day job” and two kids who seem to be growing up overnight, my priorities have shifted. As they get older, the weekends are becoming filled with sporting events, dance recitals and other activities. Having lost my mother at a young age, I know that every second with your children is precious and and important.
I have decided to take a step back from photographing weddings. I love being a part of a wedding – there is something so special about being part of such a special day where you become part of the family. However, the work before/after is significant and takes me away from my number one priority – my family. I am not saying I won’t photograph weddings anymore, but I will be limited and selective. I am still shooting some events and family portraits, but they have also been cut back so that I can spend more time with my family.
I am planning on being more active with this blog. However instead of just posts on weddings, portraits and other events I photographed, you will see more posts about my always evolving approach to my photography from the gear I have selected and why to my artistic journey. For my posts on gear, you will not see a highly technical review. Instead, I will offer a real world review and explanation of why it works for me. Stay tuned!
In the mean time, if you want to see what I have been up to, check out my kids’ blog here. Yes, my kids have a blog…with all of the pictures I take of them it is the easiest way to share them all with my family and friends.
