I am talking about Disney of course! My family loves going to Disney and while COVID may have things looking a bit different, the magic is still there! We had a blast last week during “Jersey Week.”
On day one, we headed to Epcot after arriving in Disney. We always love Epcot but I will say that this time, it seemed like Epcot had a little wilder crowd. People always love to party at Epcot, especially when it during the Food and Wine festival. However, this time we saw a LOT of people who clearly had too much and a lot of people walking around areas of the park far from the countries with cans of beer that I do not believe were sold there and having way to much fun. We had dinner reservations at the restaurant in Mexico picked for their vegan menu for my son. Unfortunately, with COVID and the limited menus, the vegan options were not available. We still had a great time and hit a few rides including Soaring, the Land and the ride at Mexico.
On day two we headed to Magic Kingdom. Now, this felt like Disney! We loved seeing the castle decorated for the 50th anniversary. We hit some key rides including Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Barnstormer, the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, the Haunted Mansion, Dumbo and many others. We missed the character experiences but still felt the magic all day! When we returned to the resort, we (read kids) enjoyed the pools and water slide.
Day three was a day at Hollywood Studios. Unfortunately, it was also a full day of HEAVY rain. We threw on the ponchos and muscled thru the rain to have a great day. We got to ride the Aerosmith Rockin’ Roller Coaster, Slinky Dog and the new Mickey and Minnie Runaway Train. We headed back to the resort to dry off and then enjoyed a yummy dinner at Toplinos.
Day four was a morning at Animal Kingdom. We finally got on Avatar after missing out our last trip, and then hit up the safari and enjoyed the bird show. We also got to meet the new gorilla baby Ada who was born in late August. We ended the day heading back to Animal Kingdom to see the 50th anniversary fireworks show which was amazing. Back at the resort, we were also able to see the Epcot light show from Toplinos.
Unfortunately, this was a short t rip and on day five we headed home. Tired, happy and already thinking about our net Disney adventure!
Here are some pictures. I only brought my old Lumix LX100 which is an older camera. Not the best but for my purposes, was perfect. Small, descent capabilities and most importantly – didn’t get in my way in terms of space weight and time.
